This week Lake Palestine has excellent fishing again. The shad spawn has just about subsided. Fish are starting to gang up in big numbers. For crappie, brush piles in 9 – 20 feet are good; shooting boat houses is good, and intermediate timber is holding good numbers.
Catfish are spawning. Channel catfish can be found on rip-wrap and chunk rock. Blues can be targeted in many of the same areas with cut shad. For channel catfish, use punch bait or nightcrawlers.
Throw in top waters for bass in the back of creeks. There is a good boathouse bite also on bass.
Stripers and hybrids are schooling early on mid-lake points, retaining walls and can be caught in good numbers trolling the 155 Bridge.
