Lake Palestine Weekly Fishing Report
By William Oliver
Bass Fishing is steady in shallow water with fish holding tight to cover under the cooler temperatures.
Crappie are very good out in deeper timber holding in the bottom 1/3rd of the water column. The bridges are producing limits of fish pretty regularly as well. Jigs and bait are fishing equally as well.
Catfish are excellent right now. Blues and Channels on Bubbas punch bait as well as cut bait. Shads are moving a little deeper on most days so they are a little harder to catch without a taped net but they're definitely the choice for the Big Blues right now.
Hybrid Striper/ Whitebass are already being caught well suspended in deeper water. Dead sticking baits like a fluke or a 3in BoneHead Slimstick are working very well.
